Copyright in articles published by the Journal of Contemporary Islamic Law<\/em> remains with the author(s).<\/p>\n

JCIL does not require authors to transfer copyright to the Journal or Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.<\/p>\n

Upon acceptance of an article, the author(s) grant JCIL:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. The right of first publication.<\/li>\n
  2. A non-exclusive licence to publish, reproduce, distribute, display, preserve, archive, index, and make the article available in any medium or format.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The author(s) retain the right to:<\/p>\n

      \n
    • Deposit the article in an institutional or subject repository.<\/li>\n
    • Share the article on personal or institutional websites.<\/li>\n
    • Use the article for teaching and academic presentations.<\/li>\n
    • Include the article in a thesis or dissertation.<\/li>\n
    • Reuse parts of the article in a book or subsequent scholarly work.<\/li>\n
    • Translate or adapt the article.<\/li>\n
    • Grant additional permission for uses not covered by the applicable Creative Commons licence.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Authors do not need to obtain prior permission from JCIL to reuse their published articles. However, the original publication in JCIL must be properly acknowledged.<\/p>\n

      The retention of copyright does not permit undisclosed duplicate or redundant publication. Any subsequent publication of the same or substantially similar content must clearly disclose and cite the original article published by JCIL.<\/p>\n
