global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; theme_builder_area=&#8221;post_content&#8221; sticky_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243;]<\/p>\n<p>Zakat merupakan instrumen keadilan sosial dalam Islam yang berfungsi menjaga kebajikan masyarakat dan membebaskan manusia daripada pelbagai bentuk penindasan. Asnaf <em>al-riq\u0101b<\/em> secara tradisinya merujuk kepada hamba yang ingin dimerdekakan, namun ketiadaan perhambaan fizikal pada masa kini menuntut penelitian semula terhadap tafsiran asnaf tersebut agar selari dengan realiti semasa. Kajian ini bertujuan menghuraikan makna <em>al-riq\u0101b<\/em> menurut pandangan ulama klasik dan kontemporari serta menganalisis kewajaran golongan gelandangan dikategorikan sebagai asnaf <em>al-riq\u0101b<\/em>. Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif melalui kajian perpustakaan dan kajian lapangan dengan menganalisis sumber primer dan sekunder berkaitan zakat dan asnaf <em>al-riq\u0101b<\/em>. Hasil kajian mendapati bahawa perluasan tafsiran <em>al-riq\u0101b<\/em> oleh ulama kontemporari merangkumi perhambaan moden seperti belenggu kemiskinan, masalah sosial dan kehilangan kebebasan hidup, yang bertepatan dengan realiti kehidupan golongan gelandangan. Oleh itu, kajian ini menyimpulkan bahawa pengiktirafan golongan gelandangan sebagai asnaf <em>al-riq\u0101b<\/em> adalah tidak wajar dan tidak selari dengan <em>maq\u0101\u1e63id al syar\u012b\u2018ah<\/em> (objektif syarak) dalam usaha memperkasakan pengagihan zakat yang lebih berkesan dan relevan.<\/p>\n<p>Kata Kunci<br \/>Zakat, Asnaf ar-riq\u0101b, Golongan gelandangan, Maq\u0101\u1e63id al-Syar\u012b\u2018ah<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_tab][et_pb_tab title=&#8221;Abstract&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.24.3&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; body_text_align=&#8221;justify&#8221; hover_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; theme_builder_area=&#8221;post_content&#8221; sticky_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243;]<\/p>\n<p>Zakat is an instrument of social justice in Islam that functions to safeguard societal welfare and to liberate individuals from various forms of oppression. Traditionally, the asnaf al-riq\u0101b refers to slaves seeking emancipation; however, the absence of physical slavery in the contemporary context necessitates a re-examination of its interpretation to ensure relevance to current realities. This study aims to explicate the meaning of al-riq\u0101b from the perspectives of classical (mutaqaddimin) and contemporary (muta\u2019akhkhirin) scholars, as well as to analyse the appropriateness of categorising the homeless as asnaf al-riq\u0101b. Employing a qualitative approach through library research and field study, this research analyses primary and secondary sources related to zakat and al-riq\u0101b. The findings indicate that contemporary scholars have expanded the interpretation of al-riq\u0101b to include modern forms of bondage such as poverty, social problems, and loss of personal freedom, which correspond to the lived realities of the homeless.
