Their performance based on the labour, capital and total factor productivities and capital-labour ratio indicate that the SMIs have moved in a similar direction as the large scale industries. With the launching of NDP, the SMIs are expected to contribute towards a more dynamic and competitive industrial sector through their supportive and complementary roles.
