The analysis is made using the method of separation index FGT (Foster-Greer-Thorbecke index) based on three poverty line income (PLI). The data used is gathered from a survey using a set of questionnaire conducted on farmers in six districts in Kedah. A total of 384 questionnaires were distributed with the help of enumerators conducted between April and December 2008. The sample size was determined through two-layered random sampling method and quotas. As a result, six out of eleven districts have been selected, i.e. Kubang Pasu, Sik, Kota Setar, Baling, Kulim and Pulau Langkawi.
