Monetary policy reaction function is identified by which the BNM sets the current level of policy rates after observing the current level of output, inflation and exchange rate, and lags of these variables (backward looking). Using quarterly time series data set spanning from 1991 to 2014, the findings support the relevance of Taylor rule in which the Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) sets their policy rates based on both inflation and output growth. In addition, the BNM has also considered the exchange rate in their reaction function.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"template":"","tags":[41,1040,116,1041],"jel-code":[],"article-type":[1329],"class_list":["entry","author-jem","post-3490","article","type-article","status-publish","tag-inflation","tag-interest-rate","tag-monetary-policy","tag-taylor-rule","article-type-normal-article"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.ukm.my\/jem\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/article\/3490","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.ukm.my\/jem\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/article"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.ukm.my\/jem\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/article"}],"version-history":[{"count":2,"href":"https:\/\/www.ukm.my\/jem\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/article\/3490\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":5468,"href":"https:\/\/www.ukm.my\/jem\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/article\/3490\/revisions\/5468"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.ukm.my\/jem\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=3490"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.ukm.my\/jem\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=3490"},{"taxonomy":"jel-code","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.ukm.my\/jem\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/jel-code?post=3490"},{"taxonomy":"article-type","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.ukm.my\/jem\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/article-type?post=3490"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
