Panel data on tourism-related firms covering the years 2002 to 2014 are utilised. Results generating from the system-<\/span><span class=\"fontstyle0\">GMM <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle0\">estimator reveals an inverse U-shaped relationship between <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle0\">CG <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle0\">and <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle0\">FP<\/span><span class=\"fontstyle0\">. This curvilinear relationship suggests that though <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle0\">CG <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle0\">enhances <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle0\">FP<\/span><span class=\"fontstyle0\">, it does not imply an unlimited increased in charitable giving. Beyond a certain limit, firm performance will deteriorate. Furthermore, the empirical results also suggest that a firm\u2019s slack resources play a vital role in strengthening the <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle0\">CG<\/span><span class=\"fontstyle0\">&#8211;<\/span><span class=\"fontstyle0\">FP <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle0\">relationship.
