This study used time series data started from 1998 to 2015. The focus of multilateral institution is subjected to G7, BRICS and ASEAN association only. This study used meta-geographical impact of institutional multilateral geopolitics which consist of military power and soft power. DIA is proxy by outwards FDI. Statistical analysis are based on descriptive analysis, principle component analysis and regression analysis \u2018least square &amp; ARMA\u2019. Based on the results, institutional multilateral geopolitical impact have a significant effect on Malaysia\u2019s direct investment abroad (DIA). Specifically, the soft power of BRICS and G7 negatively influence the level of DIA in Malaysia.
