Description:

This book, themed on achieving sustainable development goals through balanced education, emphasizes the crucial role of education in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It focuses on empowering young minds to tackle global challenges, instilling a sense of responsibility, and engaging with valuable knowledge and skills. The book details the entire process of nurturing young minds, starting from school and continuously fostering skilled individuals as they enter the workforce. This book was produced with the dedicated effort and support of UKM-GSB, which played a significant role in funding its publication through their funds. It provides a strong justification for how SDGs can be realized through education. Firstly, it explains the important role of education in achieving SDGs, followed by an exploration of the burden of student loans borne by students in Malaysia, which has been a persistent issue over the years. Next, the book discusses the challenges higher education institutions face during the implementation process, suggesting strategies to help administrators produce a workforce that values and understands SDGs in their future careers. It also describes self-learning methods with components of Education 4.0, which are considered essential for 21st-century learning skills. Additionally, the book explains the benefits of green training, including high environmental citizenship behavior, better environmental performance among employees, and promoting sustainable career growth. Finally, the book describes the implementation levels, challenges, and benefits of the Sustainable School Environmental Award (SLAAS) program in secondary schools in Malaysia. This aims to provide the latest exposure to the community and all stakeholders involved in the education sector, both directly and indirectly.
