Description:
The textile industry is a major threat to water resources due to high water consumption and production of effluents. Lately, green technology is a choice for many sectors to treat wastewater contaminated with dye. One of the green technologies that is highlighted in this exploration is plant-assisted remediation also known as phytoremediation. This approach uses plants for treating wastewater. It is suitable for treating wastewater due to their low cost, simple operation and maintenance, and favorable appearance. The writing of this book covers the biological processes during the degradation of dyes in wastewater. Local plants were able to facilitate remediation of synthetic textile wastewater. Additionally, the removal percentage of dye was higher with the addition of rhizobacteria than without the addition of rhizobacteria. This can be a model to the industry to be applied in the field in order to treat dye-contaminated effluent.
