Therefore, this book documents the findings of a scholarly study covering the following objectives: first, to determine the level of compliance with cooperative governance requirements; second, to investigate the relationship between governance practices and accountability achievements, taking into account the activeness of its members; third, to propose improvements to cooperative governance guidelines, including appropriate compliance mechanisms and enforcement measures for cooperatives, as well as providing guidance to selected cooperatives; and fourth, to provide a narrative description of the challenges in implementing cooperative governance for accountability achievement in the context of sustainable development goals, particularly during crises such as the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, and to suggest comprehensive solutions as part of the new normal practices.
