Congratulations – QS World University Rankings: Sustainability 2026
Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) has once again demonstrated its strong commitment to sustainability with an outstanding performance in the QS World University Rankings: Sustainability 2026. UKM is ranked No. 1 in Malaysia for Environmental Impact, No. 2 for Governance, and No. 3 for Social Impact among 33 evaluated universities in the country.
Globally, UKM has risen from 245th to 208th out of 2,002 universities—an impressive improvement that reflects significant progress. At the Asian level, UKM now stands at 25th out of 827 universities, continuing its upward trend and solidifying its reputation as a leading institution in sustainability.
This achievement is the result of UKM’s continuous efforts to mainstream Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) elements across campus operations. It aligns with the aspirations of the UKM Sustainability Strategic Plan 2030, which outlines clear directions in energy management, climate action, sustainable governance, and campus community well-being.
This performance not only reflects UKM’s commitment to global sustainability but also reinforces its role as a national leader in sustainable development. Congratulations to the entire UKM community for this remarkable accomplishment.
