1. “Train of Trainers” Technology Training on Fermented Product Processing – Tapai (SDG2)

The MyAgrosis Club collaborated with MARDI to successfully organize the “Train of Trainers” Technology Training on Fermented Product Processing – Tapai. This program aimed to equip students with essential knowledge and practical skills related to the fermentation process, particularly in producing tapai, a traditional fermented food made from glutinous rice or cassava.

During the training, participants were introduced to the scientific principles of fermentation, including the role of microorganisms, proper handling techniques, and optimal conditions for fermentation. Experts from MARDI’s Food Fermentation Laboratory provided in-depth theoretical explanations and hands-on demonstrations, allowing trainees to gain direct experience in preparing, processing, and packaging tapai while maintaining food safety and quality standards.

The Train of Trainers approach ensured that the knowledge acquired could be disseminated further, enabling participants to train others in their communities or institutions. This initiative not only promotes entrepreneurship in food technology but also helps preserve traditional food culture while integrating modern innovations for sustainable food production.
