Insights on Hikikomori: A Sharing session on Japan’s Guidelines & Practice, Furatto updates, and Malaysian Case Studies

A collaboration event of Child & Adolescent Psychiatric Unit, Psychiatry Department, UKM Faculty of Medicine and Akita University Graduate School of Medicine, where Dr Roseline Yong, Assistant Professor, Department of Community-based Psychosomatic Health-care, shared updates on Japan’s Guidelines & Practice on Hikikomori, and Furatto. Furatto is a community rehabilitation center for child and adolescents who refused school (futoko) and people who suffered hikikomori. Two Malaysian case studies were also presented and discussed.
Objective: Two way sharing of experience on hikikomori, futuko and furatto between Malaysia and Japan.
