Karnival Kesihatan Sempena Hari Buah Pinggang Sedunia 2025
In line with this year’s World Kidney Day theme, “Are Your Kidneys OK? Early Detection, Protect Your Kidneys,” the Nephrology Unit, Department of Medicine, and Nursing Services Department at HCTM, in collaboration with industry partners, took the initiative to organize this health carnival aimed at providing knowledge and raising awareness about kidney disease.
Activities conducted included health screenings, health forums, the “Eco-Health Track Challenge” adventure run, healthy cooking demonstrations, coloring contests, and health exhibitions. The opening ceremony was officiated by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Academic & International Affairs, Prof. Dr. Abdul Halim Abdul Gafor, with the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Datin Dr. Marina Mat Baki, also in attendance.
Objective:
- Raise awareness among the local community about the importance of health care, early prevention of kidney disease, and its management.
- Enhance communication, collaboration, and social connections among the surrounding community, healthcare staff, and industry partners in achieving the goal of healthy kidneys.
- Inspire UKM students as “Kidney Health Ambassadors” to serve as role models for the community in promoting healthy lifestyle practices.
