Program Khidmat Masyarakat ‘Jom Sihat, Bebas Kuman’

This is a community service program continuing from 2024, conducted in the Orang Asli village of Seri Iskandar, Perak. The program is a special initiative aimed at raising awareness of parasitic and bacterial infections among the community. It leverages expertise from two main departments: the Department of Parasitology and Medical Entomology and the Department of Medical Microbiology & Immunology, both of which specialize in infectious diseases with a focus on microbiology, parasitology, and vector-borne diseases.

The 2025 community service program involved students and teachers from Sekolah Kebangsaan Suak Padi, Seri Iskandar, Perak.

Objective:

  1. To raise awareness of infectious diseases, particularly those caused by parasites and bacteria, among the Orang Asli community.
  2. To acknowledge and appreciate the research subjects of FF-2024-169 and DIP-2024-005.
  3. To establish collaboration between researchers and the community through knowledge and resource sharing.
  4. To strengthen social responsibility and enhance soft skills among staff and students.
