This test is performed via iFOBT (Immunochemical Fecal Occult Blood Test) Kit using individual stool sample. The test result will show either NEGATIVE result (i.e. no early sign of cancer) or POSITIVE result (i.e. possible early sign of cancer). If the test is POSITIVE, the individual is advised to seek further medical examination or undergo endoscopic procedure. Interested individuals can buy this kit at UMBI at the price of RM20 per kit. Individuals at high risk are encouraged to do this screening. Ujian ini dilakukan dengan Kit iFOBT (Immunochemical Fecal Occult Blood Test) yang menggunakan sampel najis individu. Hasil ujian ini akan menunjukkan sama ada keputusan NEGATIVE (i.e. tiada tanda awal kanser) atau keputusan POSITIF (i.e. kemungkinan ada tanda awal kanser). Jika ujian adalah POSITIF, individu dinasihatkan untuk mendapatkan pemeriksaan perubatan lanjut atau menjalani prosedur endoskopi. Individu yang berminat boleh membeli kit ini di UMBI pada harga RM20 setiap kit. Individu berisiko tinggi amat digalakkan menjalani ujian saringan ini. For seniors over 55 years old, the cost of treatment is half the price. For those with a Guarantee Letter(GL), it is subject to GL policy. Please refer to the HCTM surgery clinic for more information (03-9145 7027).<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>2<\/strong>.<strong> If I get positive results for the iFOBT test, do I have colorectal cancer?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No. This iFOBT test is the first screening test for colorectal cancer only. This test also works to detect the presence of blood in the stool. You need to follow the colonoscopy procedure to know more about the condition of your colon.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>3<\/strong>. <strong>During these 1 month, the HCTM surgeries did not contact me. So what action should I take?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Madam \/ Sir (participant) may contact the Surgeon Clinic, HCTM at 03-9145 7027 to inquire further regarding your appointment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>4<\/strong>. <strong>I already have an appointment date with the HCTM surgery clinic. Do I need to fast on the appointed date?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No need. For the first time, you will see your doctor for further procedure evaluation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>5<\/strong>. <strong>In the past few days I have been worried after learning about iFOBT test results. What are the possible consequences of iFOBT test positive results?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If the result of the iFOBT test is positive, you do not need to worry, your colon may have other causes besides cancer such as wounds, ulcers, haemorrhoids, tumors. You need further treatment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>6<\/strong>. <strong>Can I repeat the iFOBT test again?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Yes. However, for this repeat test, you will have to pay RM20 for an iFOBT kit (via UWC).<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>7<\/strong>. <strong>Why was my first kit result positive while my second kit result was negative (or vice versa)?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This depends on the way the sample is made \/ how the sample is taken. If it is taken at the right time and in the right way, the test results will be more accurate. As such, we encourage the test to be done more than once.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>8<\/strong>. <strong>I&#8217;ve previously been diagnosed with haemorrhoids. Does haemorrhoids affect my iFOBT test results?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For people with haemorrhoids it is <strong>not advisable<\/strong> to carry out the iFOBT test as it will interfere with the test.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><b>Part 2: Deposit Payment (after the participant submits the kit)<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>1<\/strong>. <strong>What is my deposit payment method?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Deposit payment method will be made by cash payment (by Head of Field) if you present \/ submit sample to UMBI on Monday-Friday from 9.30 am to 4.00 pm (1.00 pm &#8211; 2.00 pm: break time).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">OR<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">by payment online if submitted other than the time specified earlier.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>2<\/strong>. <strong>I have sent the stool samples to TMC but I have not received my deposit.
