A successful leader must be a mentor and an agent of change in the community where his leadership skill is closely connected to his role as a visionary leader.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Adjunct Professor Dato&#8217; Sri Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir from The National University of Malaysia Graduate School of Business (UKM-GSB) said this in his public lecture on \u2018Promoting Socially Responsible Business Practice in A Glocal Context\u2019 \u00a0here today. \u2018Glocal\u2019 refers to being global and local.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">To be successful, the entrepreneur needed to be able to generate new value creation within his organisation and willing to be responsible for the risk taken.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">An entrepreneur must be someone who always thinks positively and be a decision-maker while having qualities that can inspire confidence in the community, as well as being committed to what he does, Prof Syed Zainal Abidin said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He said the success of an entrepreneur can be seen with improvements provided to customer service especially following an increase in competition.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The programme was organised by the Centre for Professional Development and Leadership in collaboration with UKM-GSB.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ukm.my\/news\/images\/stories\/Icon\/ukmnewsportal.png\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\" \/><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"border\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ukm.my\/news\/images\/stories\/Campus2014\/SriSyedZainal02.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"border\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ukm.my\/news\/images\/stories\/Campus2014\/SriSyedZainal03.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MONDAY, 15 DECEMBER 2014 16:56 By Haslina Ramlee (UPM Intern) Pix Abd Ra\u2019ai Osman BANGI, 9 December 2014 &#8211;
