But they should only be made after a thorough study and discussions by all experts, including the realities of life,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He was asked to comment the court of appeal\u2019s recent judgement declaring as unconstitutional a provision in the Negeri Sembilan Syariah Criminal Enactment prohibiting cross-dressing and trans-gender males.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tun Mahathir said that transgenders are people born \u201cunsure of their gender, they may look like a man but are actually women, and vice versa.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The former Prime Minister said that while the Quran is perfect, it is man\u2019s interpretation of the holy book that can be inaccurate and over time become irrelevant.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cWe need to do some soul-searching, some revisions about the current teachings of Islam.
