Since its establishment\u00a043\u00a0years ago, the university\u00a0has been\u00a0able to maintain its\u00a0status\u00a0as a research university\u00a0for seven\u00a0years in a row.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">UKM has also responded to\u00a0the aspirations of\u00a0the National\u00a0Transformation Plan\u00a0which\u00a0demands\u00a0research universities\u00a0build\u00a0an\u00a0innovation\u00a0culture to contribute to economic growth\u00a0and\u00a0social\u00a0well-being of the country and its people.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">UKM\u00a0has worked with all parties from government, the industry and the community\u00a0within and outside the country to explore new approaches to\u00a0produce graduates with skills in\u00a0innovation, technology management\u00a0and\u00a0entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Prof\u00a0Sharifah\u00a0Hapsah\u00a0said\u00a0the\u00a0new\u00a0approach\u00a0to integrate\u00a0education\u00a0with\u00a0research\u00a0programme\u00a0and commercialisation of\u00a0ideas will result in innovations that can be marketed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">That approach occurs in environments enriched with innovation and support in the development of prototypes, intellectual property registration and business model development.
