Programme Name: FELLOWSHIP IN RHINOLOGY, ALLERGY AND SMELL & TASTE<\/strong><\/p>

Course Director:<\/strong>\u00a0Prof. Dr. Salina Husain<\/p>

Duration of training:<\/strong>\u00a06 months \u2013 2 years<\/p>

Training Centre:<\/strong>\u00a0UKM Medical Centre\/ Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz, Cheras 56000 Kuala Lumpur .<\/p>

Eligibility:<\/strong>\u00a0Post graduate certificate in Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery<\/p>

Objectives of Programme:<\/strong><\/p>

  1. To learn the management and treatment of nose, sinonasal and skull base lesion and tumours.<\/li>
  2. To learn the management and treatment of allergy diseases.<\/li>
  3. To learn the management and treatment of smell and taste disorders.<\/li>
  4. To perform common nasal and sinonasal surgery.<\/li>
  5. To learn the advanced rhinology surgery including skull base surgery, septorrhinoplasty.<\/li><\/ol>

    Activities\/Task:<\/strong><\/p>

    1. Candidate is required to perform all clinical activities at the level of a specialist i.e. run clinics, do ward rounds, perform rhinology surgeries confidently and safely , do on-calls.<\/li>
    2. Candidate must attend\u00a0 ENT-Oncology combine clinic.<\/li>
    3. Candidate must attend at least once the Endoscopic Sinus Surgery dissection course .<\/li>
    4. Candidate must observe all Rhinology cases performed either as elective or emergency.<\/li>
    5. Candidate must pass the viva examinations which will be at end of \u00a0the programme.<\/li>
    6. Candidates must assist as many cases as possible both common and advanced Rhinology surgery.<\/li>
    7. Candidate must keep a log book and an audit of his\/her performance.<\/li>
    8. Candidate must be contactable and regularly meet with course director.<\/li>
    9. Candidate is required to join all clinical and academic activities of the Unit.<\/li>
    10. Candidate must publish at least 1 manuscript in a WOS journal .<\/li><\/ol>

      Certificate of completion of training certified by Course Director and Dean, Faculty of Medicine UKM will be given to all successful candidates.<\/strong><\/p>

      Important requirements:<\/strong><\/p>

      1. Please apply at least 6 months before intended start date.<\/li>
      2. Letter of recommendation by 2 senior Rhinologists are required.<\/li>
      3. You will need Temporary Practising Certificate (TPC) by Malaysian Medical Council (MMC). Please ensure you fulfil all the requirements for TPC.\u00a0https:\/\/mmc.gov.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/TPC_July_2019_2.pdf<\/a><\/li>
      4. Application for TPC will be forwarded to MMC by UKM except for Letter of Good Standing.<\/li><\/ol>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
