Media relation unit is to foster a strong relationship bewtween UKM and the media. Its main function is to inform the conventional and digital media about news related to the university\u2019s events and accomplishments for the public view. It acts as a liason between the media or journalists and UKM experts, allowing them to express their views on issues within their areas of expertise.<\/p>

In addition, the unit issues announcements, official statements and press releases to be disseminated across media outlets and organisations.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

UKM News Portal<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The UKM News Portal provides the latest news on the university\u2019s research and academic activities. The Portal was officially launched on 18 May 2010, as part of the university’s 40th anniversary celebration. The News Portal is the first of its kind in the country, developed by a public institution of higher learning.<\/p>

Objectives
<\/strong>Its main objective is to provide news about the university\u2019s research, innovation, and research-based commercialization initiatives, as well as official and academic activities. It also includes reports on events outside of campus that are related to UKM.<\/p>

Function
<\/strong>The function of the News Portal is to provide campus news and interview articles. Our writers and journalists gather news materials, write, translate, and edit them while the webmaster uploads them to the News Portal. As soon as a story or video is uploaded, the portal notifies its global followers via Twitter and Facebook.<\/p>
