The International Forum “Unleashing the Power of Women in ASEAN: Trade and Industry Across Borders”

On 8 October 2025, the Tun Fatimah Hashim Women’s Leadership Centre (PKWTFH) attended the International Forum “Unleashing the Power of Women in ASEAN: Trade and Industry Across Borders,” jointly organised by the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development (KPWKM), the Organisation for Women and Family Affairs Malaysia (HAWA Malaysia), and Women in Trade and Industry (WITI). The programme was held at Dewan Perdana, Menara MITI.

Among the key discussion topics were:

? Overview on Global Strategies in Empowering Women in Trade and Industry — which opened the forum with a global perspective on strategies to empower women in trade and industry. The panellists shared policies, diplomatic insights, and international collaboration opportunities to strengthen women’s roles in the global economic sector.

? Overcoming Structural Barriers: Successful Stories and Case Studies — featuring inspiring stories and real strategies from women who successfully overcame structural barriers in business and economics. From on-the-ground experiences to digital innovation, the panellists demonstrated how women’s leadership can create lasting impact.

? Leadership and Mentorship – Sustainable Trade — showcased a panel of women leaders from the corporate world and public policy, sharing their insights on sustainable leadership for the future of resilient global trade.

? Practical Guide to Export and Trade Exhibitions — focused on practical steps for export readiness and participation in trade fairs. The panellists provided strategic guidance, real-world experiences, and new opportunities for women entrepreneurs to enter international markets.

This forum served as a vital platform to strengthen networking, share knowledge, and amplify efforts in empowering women’s leadership and entrepreneurship across ASEAN.
