    Pusat Penyelidikan Tasik Chini

    Pusat Pengurusan Makmal Alami & Fizikal UKM (ALAF-UKM)

    Tasik Chini Research Center (PPTC) was established under the Faculty of Science and Technology, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), to conduct research on the diversity of flora and fauna as well as abiotic components such as water, soil, and air. In addition to research, PPTC also engages in teaching, fieldwork, environmental awareness, and the dissemination of integrated lake management information to the community.

    Since September 8, 2022, PPTC has come under new management following the restructuring of UKM’s natural and physical laboratories, now overseen by the Pusat Pengurusan Makmal Alami & Fizikal UKM (ALAF-UKM), which centrally monitors and coordinates all research laboratories.

    PPTC Objective

    • Conducting scientific studies and fieldwork on biodiversity, ecosystem function and integrated lake management.

    • Increase expertise, knowledge and generate experience while conducting field research activities regularly and effectively.

    • Integrate new approaches in research into biodiversity, ecosystem function, lake management at national and international levels.

    • To develop PPTC towards the ultimate scientific investigation and education center in line with SME aspirations

    • Assist Pahang state government in the conservation, restoration and preservation of Lake Chini for state and national heritage

    PPTC Vision

    • Distribute academic knowledge for sustainable development in the region, state, nation and international.

    • Conducting scientific studies and fieldwork on biodiversity, ecosystem function and integrated lake management.
