My research then focused on the efficient catalyst to remove the phenol element in wastewater. Next, I began to improve my quality as a researcher while studying as a Ph.D. candidate at UKM. I became interested in the fuel cell and renewable energy system. My research then was to develop a biomaterial-based film membrane, alginate polymer, and combine it with advanced graphene oxide material. These membrane novels have performed exceptionally well and are proud of them as they are comparable to synthetic material-based membranes. However, these membrane properties require further improvement, especially in terms of mechanical properties because alginate is naturally hydrophilic. So far I have been looking for an enhancement method that can increase the biopolymer membrane potential. It is a very exciting research journey as it covers various disciplines including biomaterial, advanced material, fuel cell technology, polymeric material, and renewable energy system. And it certainly is an element focused on the sustainable development goal (SDG). For future research, I will continue to expose the potentials of bio-based material such as cellulose, carrageenan, chitosan etc, waste material such plastic bottle, waste paper, agro waste etc to convert to a regenerative new composite material that is safe, sustainable, biodegradable and excellent performance.
