It is Malaysia\u2019s <strong data-start=\"519\" data-end=\"547\">first research institute<\/strong> dedicated to the fields of <strong data-start=\"575\" data-end=\"651\">fuel cell engineering, hydrogen energy, and energy management and policy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The Institute began full operations on <strong data-start=\"693\" data-end=\"711\">1 January 2007<\/strong>, following the appointment of <strong data-start=\"742\" data-end=\"788\">Prof. Dato\u2019 Ir. Dr. Hj. Wan Ramli Wan Daud<\/strong> as its first Director by the Vice-Chancellor of UKM, <strong data-start=\"842\" data-end=\"913\">YBhg.
