The Laerdal Crash Kelly is a rugged, durable, full-body training manikin designed specifically for advanced airway management, adult extrication, and field trauma simulation. It is highly versatile and widely used by emergency response teams, military personnel, and tactical medicine programs to practice realistic rescue operations and mass casualty triage

1. Advanced Airway Management
The intubation head features an anatomically accurate airway path that allows students to practice standard and advanced airway interventions:
- Device Insertion: Supports Endotracheal (ET) tubes, Laryngeal Mask Airways (LMA), Combitubes, and King LT airways.
- Intubation Paths: Accommodates oral, nasal, and digital intubation techniques.
- Clinical Assessment: Allows bag-valve mask (BVM) ventilation, suctioning practice, right mainstem intubation checks, and stomach auscultation to verify proper tube placement.
- Head Positioning: Head tilts forward, backward, or rotates 90 degrees to practice proper neck positioning.
2. Extrication & Rescue Operations
The full-body, flexible design is ideal for high-stress environmental training:
- Mobility Exercises: Excellent for practicing vehicle extrication, confined-space rescues, and lifting techniques.
- Immobilization: Realistic joint articulation allows responders to practice applying cervical collars, splints, traction, or securing the patient to a standard spineboard.
3. Circulation & Triage
- Carotid Pulse: Features a manually operated bulb to simulate a carotid pulse during patient assessment.
- Mass Casualty Exercises: Often used in multiples to set up complex disaster triage scenarios.
To transition the platform into an advanced trauma simulation, several specialized, optional add-on modules can replace standard limbs or parts:
- Advanced Trauma Module Set: Realistically simulates deep lacerations, burns, and fractures.
- Bleeding Trauma Modules: Features internal reservoirs to simulate active, heavy hemorrhaging for tourniquet and packing practice.
- NBC Module: Tailored for Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical decontamination drills.Â
