Viva Voce – Wan Nazihah Liyana

We proudly celebrate the outstanding success of Dr. Wan Nazihah Liyana Wan Jusoh, who has officially completed her PhD journey with excellence. She passed her Viva Examination with minor corrections on 14 November 2024 and successfully submitted her hardbound thesis on 10 December 2024, earning the prestigious Graduate on Time (GOT) award, a mark of her determination, focus, and commitment to research excellence.

Her doctoral research, titled “3D Bioprinting of Microalgae in Cellulose-based Hydrogel,” highlights her innovative approach in integrating microalgae cultivation, biopolymer engineering, and sustainable advances biofabrication. The study explores the potential of renewable cellulose materials as hydrogel scaffolds for microalgae growth and 3D bioprinting applications, contributing to greener technologies in biotechnology and environmental sustainability.

Currently, Dr. Nazihah serves as a Postdoctoral Researcher with our team, continuing to advance impactful research in sustainable biomaterials and biofabrication. Prior to this, she spent six months as a Research Scientist at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), where she gained valuable industrial research experience that further enriches her expertise.

This achievement not only reflects her personal perseverance but also strengthens our team’s pursuit of impactful, eco-conscious scientific innovation.
