The workshop was specifically designed to empower academic staff and researchers with the strategic tools and procedural knowledge required to successfully navigate the <strong>Technology Development Fund (TED)<\/strong>\u2014a cornerstone of the <strong>PEMACU 2.0<\/strong> funding framework.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The session featured <strong>Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Mohd Shaiful Sajab<\/strong> as the lead speaker. Having successfully secured both <strong>TED 1<\/strong> and <strong>TED 2<\/strong> grants for his own research initiatives, Dr. Shaiful brought a wealth of &#8220;on-the-ground&#8221; experience to the table. His presentation moved beyond mere theory, offering a practical roadmap for applicants to transform their lab-scale innovations into market-ready technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key Highlights of the Session:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Strategic Application Tactics:<\/strong> Dr. Shaiful shared insider tips on aligning research proposals with the specific KPIs expected by MOSTI, emphasizing the transition from proof-of-concept to commercialization.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Navigating PEMACU 2.0:<\/strong> Participants received a clear breakdown of where the TED funds fit within the broader national innovation ecosystem.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Common Pitfalls:<\/strong> Drawing from his personal journey, Dr. Shaiful highlighted the common mistakes researchers make during the application process and how to avoid them to increase the likelihood of approval.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The two-hour session (2:00 pm \u2013 4:00 pm) was highly interactive, allowing researchers to ask pointed questions about their specific projects. It served as a vital platform for knowledge exchange, ensuring that our faculty remains at the forefront of technological development in Malaysia.
