Mini Biography

Professor Dr Rosnah Sutan is a registered Public Health Physician (NSR132765) and Senior Family Health Consultant in University Kebangsaan Malaysia. Her field of practice is in family health epidemiology and behavioral insight to public health. She has strong connection network locally with Ministry of Health, Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development and IYRES under Ministry of Youth and Sports and Ministry of Education in research linked activities. She collaborates research internationally with Perinatal Institute of United Kingdom for development of Malaysian customized antenatal growth chart and with University of Aberdeen in stillbirth related studies and training on maternal and neonatal monitoring and evaluation under IMMPACT. She is the founder of national reproductive and perinatal health clearinghouse center that dealing with compilation of researches related to maternal health, perinatal health, sexual and reproductive health for Malaysia. She is passionate in empowering youth in facing aging nation for risk preventive approach and deeply involved in community empowerment for healthy aging. Her interest in health seeking behavior has driven to development of health education promotion for women and parental intervention.

DEFINITION

Credentialing: a process to set the standards and to do an evaluation for a person’s qualification in a field or procedure. It is recognition for the professional training done by a medical practitioner.

Privileges: the rights given by the hospital for a medical practitioner to give treatments or to do procedures on hospital patients based on the qualifications of the training, and the medical practitioner’s experience and expertise.
