I am deeply grateful for this PhD journey, which has shaped me both academicaly and personaly. Along the way, I learned not only how to conduct research, but also the importance of patience, resilience, and quiet perseverance during my time in the Physiology Department, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). My heartfelt thanks to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Azizah Ugusman, my PhD supervisor, for her guidance throughout the project; Dr. Adila A. My journey at Department of Tissue Engineering & Regenerative Medicine (DTERM), Faculty of Medicine, UKM, has been an amazing journey. In 2021, I registered as a master\u2019s student, and at that time I wanted to be part of something impactful, but I didn\u2019t realize just how much this journey would bring me. In the beginning, I was nervous about diving into the world of tissue engineering, it felt so advanced and beyond my grasp. But with the incredible support of my supervisory team (Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Fauzi Mh Busra, Dr Manira Maarof & Prof. Dr. Fatih Duman) with the welcoming community at DTERM, I quickly found my footing. I still remember the first time developing hydrogel skin substitutes via 3D-biopritning. It wasn\u2019t just science; it was art, innovation, and problem-solving all rolled into one. That was the moment I realized I wanted to push further.\n\nHalfway through my Master\u2019s, I realized I wasn\u2019t done exploring or contributing to the field, so I decided to convert to a PhD program. It was a challenging decision, but the support from my supervisors and peers made all the difference. Working on scaffolds for chronic wound healing felt like contributing to something bigger to the community. Finishing my PhD on time was a proud moment, and receiving the Anugerah Emas Kedoktoran, Graduate on Time (GOT), Excellent Thesis, and Hadiah Ruszymah Idrus awards was the ultimate recognition of the hard work and determination behind it all. These awards weren\u2019t just acknowledgments of my work but they were validations of the sleepless nights, the problem-solving marathons, and the unwavering belief that what I was doing mattered.\n\nNow, looking back, I\u2019m so glad I trusted myself to take that next step and to choose UKM. Being at DTERM, UKM has not only taught me about tissue engineering but also about resilience, teamwork, and polishing my soft skill. This journey has been about more than just earning a PhD, it\u2019s been about growing into the kind of researcher I always hoped I could be. My journey through the Physiology Department at the Faculty of Medicine has been nothing short of exceptional, and I want to take a moment to reflect on this remarkable experience.\nFrom the moment I set foot in this institution, I was captivated by the world of research. One of the most rewarding aspects of my academic journey has been the hands-on laboratory experiences I gained. The state-of-the-art laboratories and cutting-edge equipment at the Physiology Department provided the ideal backdrop for conducting groundbreaking research. This experience not only sharpened my technical skills but also instilled in me a deep appreciation for the art and science of experimentation.\nThe research environment at the Physiology Department is nothing short of extraordinary.
