Attendance at synchronous meetings is not obligatory; instead, students unable to participate will receive recorded lectures for the missed synchronous sessions and therefore be able engage with these recordings at their own convenience.

In ODL setting, assessment predominantly revolves around project-based style, placing a significant emphasis on nurturing students’ competence in applying their knowledge and skills within the realm of daily workplace scenarios.

Although ODL programs are conducted entirely online, ODL students benefit from specialized support services accessible through a diverse array of helpdesk channels, collectively known as the ODL helpdesk. Micro-Credential (MC) is a learning format offered in small units. MC courses are very appropriate to meet the needs of the working class in following skills in line with their daily work demands. MC courses are open to all age limits regardless of academic background.

UKM offers two types of Micro-credentials:

2. Standalone

The short duration of learning provides a flexible learning space in terms of time where students can plan their own learning schedule since the concept of learning in MC is self-learning.

At UKMShape, Professional Certificates are implemented in two (2) methods, which are open to the public and targeted.

The UKM Professional Certificate is a non-formal education program in the form of developing knowledge and skills equivalent to Levels 4-7 of the Malaysian Qualifications Framework (MQF) offered to provide added value to individual specialist and professional knowledge and skills to perform certain tasks.

This program differs from the MQF Level 1-3 Skills Certificate offered formally by vocational and technical education institutes. Those who receive learning through this program are referred to as ‘students’.

APEL (Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning) is a systematic process that involves the RECOGNITION, DOCUMENTATION, and ASSESSMENT of prior experiences related to a particular educational program.

APEL A (Access)	APEL C (Credit Award)	APEL Q (Award of Academic Qualifications)
APEL.A is defined as a systematic process that involves the identification, documentation, and assessment of learning based on prior experiential knowledge, such as knowledge, skills, and attitudes, to determine the level at which an individual has achieved the desired learning outcomes, as a means of access to a particular educational program and/or credit award.	Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning for Credit Award Purposes [APEL.C] is the process of assessing an individual’s learning (formal, non-formal, or informal learning) based on accumulated experiences (knowledge and skills) to obtain credit transfer for courses within the program being pursued.	Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning for Award of Academic Qualifications Purposes [APEL.Q] is the process of assessing an individual’s learning (formal / non-formal / informal) based on accumulated experiences (knowledge and skills) to obtain academic qualifications for the applied program.
APEL.A provides opportunities for individuals who have work experience but lack academic qualifications or have no academic qualifications to pursue higher education at Higher Education Institutions.	The main emphasis of APEL.C should be on assessing the individual’s ability to apply the learning acquired through their experiences in achieving the learning outcomes of a particular course.	The main emphasis of APEL.Q should be on assessing the individual’s ability to apply the learning acquired through their experiences in achieving the learning outcomes or body of knowledge of a particular program.
Generally, the assessment of APEL.A involves evaluating the knowledge acquired by an individual through both formal education and prior experiential learning.

The ASASIpintar at Permata@Pintar UKM is a pre-university program for a selected student with high intellectual potentials with considerable talents.

This 1 year program also emphasizes on holistic development of students to ensure that all physical, emotional, spiritual, intellectual and social aspects of students can be improved.

The program offers a curriculum that combines theory and practice as well as research courses to strengthen students’ ability to conduct a variety of research in their field of interest. The cultivation of challenging knowledge as well as the latest innovations are the pillars of the ASASIpintar program.

Majlis menandatangani Memorandum Perjanjian(MoA) di antara Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia dan Nanjing Forestry University telah berlangsung di Bilik Majlis Bangunan Canselori, UKM pada 14 September 2023. Pada majlis tersebut Naib Canselor UKM, Prof. Dato’ Gs. Ts. Dr. Mohd Ekhwan Hj. Toriman telah hadir mewakili UKM bagi menandatangani perjanjian ini.

Delegasi Nanjing Forestry University diketuai oleh Prof. Dr. Yong Qiang, Presiden NJFU, Prof. Dr. Yin Tongming, Timbalan Presiden NJFU beserta beberapa pegawai tertinggi NJFU. Delegasi ini juga diiringi oleh Dato’ Prof. Adjung Dr. Tan Yew Chong, Pengerusi NIUFU Consulting Sdn. Bhd.

MoA ini akan dapat memanfaatkan kelebihan kedua-dua universiti dan memupuk usaha kerjasama dalam aktiviti berkaitan pendidikan dan penyelidikan.

Majlis menandatangani Memorandum Persefahaman (MoU) antara Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia dengan Harbin Institute of Technology, Weihai telah diadakan di Bangunan Canselori UKM. Majlis MoU ini dikendalikan oleh Pusat Pembentukan Pendidikan Lanjutan dan Profesional (UKMShape).

Melalui perjumpaan ini, pihak UKM telah berkongsi maklumat mengenai pengajian yang ditawarkan oleh UKM dan juga peluang Kerjasama yang boleh dijalinkan antara UKM dan Institut Bisnis Dan Teknologi Pelita Indonesia. Selain itu perkara lain yang dikongsikan adalah tentang kemudahan dan kelebihan belajar di kampus induk Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Bangi. Sesi perjumpaan ini juga diisi dengan perkongsian cara penulisan jurnal berimpak tinggi yang disampaikan oleh Dr. Norazuwana Binti Shaari, Pensyarah Institut Sel Fuel UKM.

Sesi perjumpaan diakhiri dengan sesi soal jawab bagi menerangkan dengan lebih jelas mengenai cara penulisan jurnal dan juga perkongsian maklumat tentang UKM. Semoga perjumpaan ini akan dapat mengeratkan lagi hubungan dua hala antara Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia dan juga Institut Bisnis Dan Teknologi Pelita Indonesia.

UKMShape telah melakukan satu kunjungan hormat ke Jabatan Perangkaan Malaysia pada 21 Julai 2023 bertempat di Pejabat Jabatan Perangkaan Malaysia Putrajaya. Pada perjumpaan ini pihak UKMShape dan Jabatan Perangkaan Malaysia telah membincangkan mengenai kerjasama Pendidikan yang boleh dijalinkan untuk ditawarkan kepada warga Jabatan Perangkaan Malaysia pada masa akan datang. Diharapkan perjumpaan ini akan dapat menjalinkan hubungan baik antara pihak UKMShape dan juga Jabatan Perangkaan Malaysia.

Peking University's Visit to UKM

On 6th of July 2023, Peking University visited Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia for a discussion on possible networking activities in the area of academic and cultural exchange. Both universities are ranked in the Top 200 universities (based on QS World University Ranking) and will work closely to ensure this relationship will be able to flourish in the future.

Lawatan rasmi Gubernur Riau, Indonesia dan perbincangan antara Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Pemerintah Provinsi Riau serta wakil dari Riau Petroleum, Indonesia.

Gabenor Wilayah Riau di Indonesia, YDH Drs. H. Syamsuar, M. Si, baru-baru ini melawat Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) bagi mengeratkan hubungan Indonesia dan Malaysia dalam sektor pendidikan. Lawatan yang berlangsung pada 2 Mac 2023 itu bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kerjasama antara kedua-dua negara.

Dalam lawatannya, Gabenor Syamsuar bertemu dengan Timbalan Naib Canselor Akademik & Antarabangsa UKM, YBhg. Prof. Dr. Mohammad Kassim, untuk membincangkan potensi pemberian biasiswa untuk pelajar Indonesia yang ingin mengikuti program prasiswazah dan pascasiswazah di UKM.

Inisiatif ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kerjasama akademik dan penyelidikan antara kedua-dua negara di samping memberi peluang kepada pelajar Indonesia melanjutkan pelajaran di universiti terkemuka di Malaysia.

Turut hadir, Pengarah Pusat Pembentukan Pendidikan Lanjutan & Profesional, Prof Datuk Dr Muhammad Bin Hussin dan disertai oleh delegasi dari Pemerintah Provinsi Riau serta wakil dari Riau Petroleum, Indonesia.

Lawatan UKMShape ke Yayasan Sarawak

UKMShape melakukan kunjungan rasmi terhadap Yayasan Sarawak bertempat di Bangunan Yayasan Sarawak, Kuching.

Lawatan tersebut diketuai oleh Prof. Datuk Dr. Muhammad Hussin, Pengarah UKMShape, Dr Azahan Bin Awang, Timbalan Pengarah II(Hal Ehwal Pelajar dan Alumni), Encik Jamalul Lail Abdul Wahab, Timbalan Pengarah III (Pembangunan Program dan Pemasaran). Turut hadir bersama dalam kunjungan rasmi ini adalah Prof. Dr. Kadarruddin Aiyub, Dekan Fakulti Sains Sosial & Kemanusian dan juga Prof. Dr. Novel Lyndon, Pengerusi Pusat Kajian SEEDS.

Tujuan kunjungan rasmi ini dilakukan adalah bagi membincangkan mengenai tajaan pelajar dibawah Yayasan Sarawak untuk menyambung pelajaran mereka di UKM. Antara perkara lain yang turut dibincangkan adalah mengenai isu berkaitan kebajikan pelajar di UKM dan kolaborasi yang boleh dijalinkan bagi meningkatkan bilangan pelajar dari Sarawak ke UKM pada masa hadapan.

Menyambut kunjungan rasmi ini daripada Yayasan Sarawak adalah, Encik Louis Simon, Timbalan Pengarah (Pendidikan), Encik Watson Chunggat Leornard Doo, Ketua Penolong Pengarah(Pembiayaan Pendidikan & Bayaran Balik) dan Encik Zamahari Bin Haji Saidi, Ketua Penolong Pengarah(Biasiswa, Program & Bantuan).

Bengkel Pembangunan Dokumen Micro-Credential

13 & 14 Jun 2023

Unit Sijil Profesional & Micro Credential UKMShape dengan kerjasama Pusat Pengajaran & Pembangunan Kurikulum (Pengajaran-UKM) telah menganjurkan Bengkel Pembangunan Dokumen Micro-Credential pada 13 dan 14 Jun 2023 bertempat di Bilik Pujangga 2, UKMShape.

Seramai 17 peserta daripada 8 PTj telah melibatkan diri dalam bengkel yang berlangsung selama dua hari berturut-turut itu. Bengkel ini turut dihadiri oleh Prof. Madya Dr. Zulkeflee Mansor, Timbalan Pengarah (Pembangunan Kurikulum), Pengajaran-UKM dan Prof. Madya Dr. Che Aniza Binti Che Wel (Ketua Unit Sijil Profesional & Micro-Credential), Pengajaran-UKM. Objektif bengkel ini diadakan adalah untuk membantu para pensyarah membangunkan dokumen Micro-Credential selain membuka peluang kepada mereka untuk bertanya soalan mengenai pendokumentasian program Micro-Credential.

Pada penghujung bengkel, Prof. Madya Dr. Fariza yang merupakan Timbalan Pengarah I, UKMShape telah menyampaikan cenderahati kepada wakil Pengajaran-UKM sebagai tanda penghargaan di atas komitmen yang diberikan. Semoga dengan penganjuran bengkel ini dapat membantu menambah bilangan kursus berbentuk Micro-Credential yang boleh ditawarkan oleh PTj di UKM.

Pusat Pembentukan Pendidikan Lanjutan dan Profesional(UKMShape) dengan bekerjasama Suria FM telah mengadakan Program Jelajah Jom Masuk UKM 2023 X Suria Wheels di empat Zon Semenanjung Malaysia bermula 5 Ogos 2023 sehingga 2 September 2023. Pada 3 Ogos 2023, Khamis merupakan hari pelancaran bagi Program Jelajah Jom Masuk UKM X Suria.FM Wheels di sekitar pintu masuk utama dan lobi UKMShape.

Naib Canselor, Prof. Dato’ Gs. Ts. Dr. Mohd Ekhwan Hj. Toriman telah melancarkan Program Jelajah Masuk UKM 2023 x Suria.fm Wheels di Foyer UKMShape. Program jelajah ini telah bermula pada 5 Ogos 2023 dan berakhir pada 2 September 2023 melibatkan empat zon di Semenjung Malaysia. Jelajah ini bermula di zon timur, kemudian ke zon selatan, diikuti zon utara dan berakhir di zon tengah. Sepanjang jelajah ini, pasukan Jelajah Masuk UKM 2023 x Suria.fm Wheels telah mempromosi UKM seterusnya mempelawa bakal-bakal pelajar terutamanya mereka yang berhasrat untuk melanjutkan pengajian di peringkat ijazah pertama, kedua dan ketiga.

Lawatan Penanda Aras Universiti Tun Hussien Onn Malaysia (UTHM)

UKMShape telah menerima lawatan penanda aras daripada Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) pada 18 Julai 2023. Lawatan ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan perkongsian pengalaman dan amalan baik pelaksanaan program Online and Distance Learning (ODL) di UKM, termasuk sistem yang digunakan.

Lawatan daripada UTHM ini melibatkan beberapa pusat tanggungjawab yang diketuai oleh Prof. Dr. Shahruddin Bin Hj. Mahzan @ Mohd Zin, Dekan Pusat Pengajian Siswazah. Ahli yang turut serta dalam lawatan ini ialah ChM Dr. Faridah Binti Abu Bakar, Timbalan Dekan (Akademik dan Penyelidikan), Dr. Mohd Hisyam Bin Abdul Rahim, Timbalan Dekan (Pembangunan Siswazah), Prof. Madya Ts. Dr. Norhadilah Binti Abdul Hamid, Ketua Jabatan (Pembangunan Program Penyelidikan), Prof. Madya Ts. Pada 26 Mac 2022, UKM telah menandatangani MoA dengan The Regional Group bagi kerjasama penawaran program UKM secara persisir (offshore) di Doha, Qatar.
The Regional Group diwakili oleh Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif, Sheikh Abdul Rahman Bin Khalifa Bin A.A. Al Thani.

Melalui perjanjian tersebut, The Regional Group bertanggungjawab menyediakan kemudahan fasiliti dan aktiviti promosi program UKM di Qatar. Selain itu, The Regional Group bersetuju untuk membina kampus cawangan UKM di Doha, Qatar.

UKMShape telah menganjurkan Mesyuarat Penyelarasan Program Pesisir (Offshore) UKM-Qatar bagi membincangkan penawaran program prasiswazah secara pesisir di Doha, Qatar. Lawatan Penanda Aras Kolej Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Selangor (KUIS)

UKMShape telah menerima lawatan daripada Kolej Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Selangor (KUIS) pada 10 November 2022.Lawatan ini bertujuan untuk penandaarasan Program ODL UKM.

Delegasi seramai 15 orang tersebut diketuai oleh Prof. Madya Dr. Zetty Nurzuliana binti Rashed Timb. Rektor (Akademik & Pengantarabangsaan). Turut serta dalam delegasi termasuklah Dr. Sarifah binti Ismail Ketua, Bahagian Penjaminan Kualiti dan Dr. Mohd Shahrul Nizam bin Mohd Danuri Pengarah Pusat Pembelajaran KUIS serta para pensyarah dari Fakulti Syariah & Undang-undang, Fakulti Pengurusan & Muamalah dan INHAD.
