The first presentation was delivered by Industrial Training student Ms. Sh. Aireen Batrisya Sy. Faizal, entitled โ€œRibosomal Proteins and Acute Myeloid Leukemia: Molecular Mechanisms and Therapy Strategies.โ€ Supervised by Dr. Muhammad Redha Abdullah Zawawi, the presentation highlighted the potential roles of ribosomal proteins in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and their implications for future therapeutic strategies. UMBI wishes Ms. Aireen continued success in her academic and professional journey and hopes her internship has provided valuable knowledge and research experience.

The second session featured the MSc final presentation by UMBI Master’s student, Ms. Nur Qurratu Athirah A. Rahman, entitled โ€œElucidating the Crosstalk Between HIF2ฮฑโ€“VEGFA and KLF6โ€“PDGFฮฒ Axes in Driving Renal Carcinoma Hypervascularization.โ€ Supervised by Ts. Dr. Saiful Effendi Syafruddin, the presentation highlighted her research on the molecular mechanisms underlying renal carcinoma hypervascularization and their potential significance in understanding tumour angiogenesis.

The session was further enriched by the presence of industry representatives, Dr. Khor Yee Min, Associate Sales Application Manager from Qiagen Biotechnology (M) Sdn. Bhd., and Mr. Tung Chee Hong, Field Application Manager from Next Gene Scientific Sdn. Bhd., who contributed valuable perspectives during the discussion.

UMBI also congratulates Ms. Nur Qurratu on her achievements throughout her Master’s journey at UMBI, reflecting her dedication and excellence in research. Her accomplishments include receiving the Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Scholarship by Yayasan Terengganu (2025), the Yayasan Sime Darby (YSD) Award Travel Grant to attend ACCR on Campus Malaysia 2025 in Sarawak, and the Young Investigator Award (YIA) at the 1st Regional Conference on Precision Health (RCPH) 2026 in Kuala Lumpur.
