Professor <\/span>Sarah Lewington <\/b>co-leads the \u201cLarge-scale observational studies in diverse <\/span>populations\u201d within the MRC\u2019s Population Health Research Unit (PHRU). She is the <\/span>Oxford-based\u00a0 principal investigator for large cohort studies conducted in Russia (200K participants), Cuba (150K\u00a0 participants) and India (500K participants). She has published >100 articles which have >22,000\u00a0 citations (Scopus <\/span>h<\/span><\/i>-index, 43).<\/span><\/p>\n

She also has\u00a0 research interests in the role of adiposity in cancer development. She has published >300 articles\u00a0 that have been cited >19,000 times (Scopus <\/span>h<\/span><\/i>-index, 78) <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Based at the MRC PHRU in Oxford, his research is focused on studying the causes and prevention of cardiovascular\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

He works\u00a0 on large-scale cohort studies in several low and middle income countries, focusing particularly on\u00a0 the effect of adiposity on vascular disease risk. His research has involved Genetic Markers of Cancer, Cancer Proteomics, Paediatric Hematological Disorders (Thalassemia and Leukemia), Stem Cell Therapy, Microgravity Science, Cancer and Microbiome. He has published 131 research articles (Scopus h-index, 20) of which 20 have been from The Malaysia Cohort.<\/span><\/p>\n
