YTI Excellence Award 2025/2026
Tun Ismail Mohamed Ali Distinguished Chair (YTI-UKM), Faculty of Economics and Management, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia offers a fees scholarship for UKM students pursuing postgraduate studies (Master). This Scholarship is awarded based on academic merit and designed to support outstanding students in their research. The scholarship covers tuition fees for a maximum duration of one and a half (1.5) years for Master, subject to the recipient maintaining satisfactory academic progress throughout the program.

Selection Criteria for Scholarship:
1. Malaysian – The applicant must be Malaysian citizen
2. Academic Excellence – Strong academic track record, including high grades, relevant awards or honors.
3. Feasibility and Value Research Proposal – The research should be achievable within the proposed time and resources. It should also have clear objectives, methodology and potential impact.
4. Other Relevant Factors – Leadership roles, community service , extracurricular achievements, financial need or spacial circumstances. Any additional attributes that set the applicant apart.
YTI Excellence Award Scholarship Ceremony 2025

The Tun Ismail Mohamed Ali Distinguished Chair (YTI-UKM), in collaboration with the Postgraduate Secretariat of the Faculty of Economics and Management, UKM, was held the YTI Excellence Award Scholarship Presentation Ceremony 2025 on March 12, 2025, at Lecture Hall 1, Faculty of Economics and Management, UKM.
This inaugural scholarship award ceremony aligns with the new direction of the Tun Ismail Mohamed Ali Berdaftar, Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB), which is the funder for the establishment of the YTI-UKM Distinguished Chair. The purpose of this award ceremony is to recognize outstanding students with high potential in the fields of academics and research. Master of Commerce student, Mohd Arif Hizami Hamidin, and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) student, Hanisah Mohd Sobre, from the Faculty of Economics and Management, UKM, were selected as the first recipients of the YTI Excellence Award 2025.
For your information, this ceremony was also held in conjunction with the welcoming and briefing session for 102 new graduate students who enrolled in the Faculty of Economics and Management, UKM, for the academic session of Semester II, 2024/2025.
The YTI Excellence Award 2025 scholarship presentation ceremony was officiated by YBrs. Pn. Norhanifah A. Jalil, the Chief Executive of Human Resources at Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB), En. Khairul Razak Moonier, President of the Education Department (PNB), Prof. Ts. Dr. Faizal Mohamed, Director of the UKM Chancellor’s Foundation, Prof. Dr. Mohd Azlan Shah Zaidi, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management, and Dr. Ahmad Raflis Che Omar, Deputy Dean (Graduate Studies) FEP.
Together at the event were Prof. Dr. Aisyah Abdul Rahman, Deputy Dean (Research and Innovation Affairs), FEP, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Hakimi Mohd Shafiai, Deputy Dean (Industry and Community Relations), FEP, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Hasimi Yaacob, Manager of the YTI-UKM Chair.
