Background & Objectives

---

The goal of the conference is to provide a platform for researchers, academics, policy planners and advisors to exchange their research findings. In addition, the conference is also intended as a venue to promote interest in input-output analysis. In line with current developments in Malaysia, the conference main theme is Development Challenges in a Climate of Change. Recent global financial crises has led developing countries to re-orientate their development policies towards private consumption while at the same time shift towards more diversified and more knowledge-intensive goods for exports in more diversified markets. Meantime, the need to continue with sustainable development agendas suggests that development strategies cannot disregard environmental concerns, including climate change mitigation and adaptation measures. These concerns must be incorporated into developments and growth policies for the future.
