Tutorial 7

Adding 3D titles to your project

The three-dimensional (3D) titling utility is used to add titles to your media projects. These titles can be added to a video to create television-like effects.

3D Titling creates text models by adding depth to two-dimensional characters. This is done by drawing an outline of the characters you enter, making a copy of the outlined characters to serve as the back face of the model, and then applying a side surface to connect the front and back faces. You can also add beveled edges to your 3D title and apply a surface material and color to the surface of your text.

Using 3D Titling, you can animate your 3D title by applying a predefined animation path. Several animation paths are provided, or you can customize an animation path by changing its duration, text attributes, and motion.
