STEM Outreach Program
The Department of Chemical Engineering (JKKP), in collaboration with the Faculty of Industrial Technology, Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII), successfully organized a STEM Outreach Program at SMK Jalan Empat, Bandar Baru Bangi on 19 June 2025. The program involved the participation of three teachers and 55 Form 3 students, along with a delegation from UII consisting of 12 lecturers and 14 students. This initiative aimed to strengthen regional educational collaboration while providing students with meaningful exposure to the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) beyond the classroom setting.
Through a series of engaging and hands-on activities, the program introduced five educational modules. JKKP contributed two modules—3D Printing and Chemical Reactions—while UII presented three modules, namely Eco-Printing, Composite Materials, and 5S Implementation. These modules were designed to be interactive and impactful, sparking curiosity and encouraging critical thinking among the students.
Our team was specifically involved in facilitating the 3D Printing module, led by Siti Aisyah Syazwani Zaidi, You Jen Xian, and Asswin A/L Veerapatran. Their guidance and enthusiasm played a key role in delivering a fun and educational experience for the students. Overall, the program not only enhanced the students’ understanding of STEM concepts but also fostered academic and cultural exchange between the participating institutions.
