The White Coat Preview programme was successfully conducted on 17 March 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Exam Hall, Level 2, Preclinical Building, Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Cheras, Kuala Lumpur. Organized by the Department of Biochemistry, Faculty of Medicine, UKM, the programme welcomed 34 participants, comprising SPM leavers from SMISTA MAIWP (Batch Hercynite) and SBPI Rawang (Batch Evonix), as well as foundation and pre-university students interested in pursuing a medical degree.
The programme commenced with registration, followed by a talk entitled “The Future of Medicine: Opportunities and Pathways” delivered by Dr Nuraqila Mohd Murshid. The session provided participants with valuable insights into medical education pathways, emerging opportunities in healthcare, and future career prospects in the medical field. Participants also attended an inspiring sharing session by Dr Nurly Syakirin Mohd Arshad, a UKM medical alumna, who shared her experiences and journey through medical school.
To provide a firsthand glimpse into student life at the Faculty of Medicine, participants were guided on visits to several key facilities, including the Lecture Hall, Multipurpose Laboratory (MPG Lab), Animal Holding Room, Small Group Discussion Room, Clinical Simulation Lab, and Anatomy Museum. These visits enabled participants to experience the learning environment and facilities available to medical students firsthand.
The programme concluded with a photography session. Overall, the event successfully increased participants’ awareness of medical education and inspired them to consider careers in healthcare.
