Citra UKM Student Visit to the HCTM Forensic Unit and Anatomy/Pathology Museum
The Citra UKM Student Visit to the HCTM Forensic Unit and the Anatomy/Pathology Museum was successfully conducted on 20 May 2026 for 39 Citra UKM students from the Bangi campus. The educational visit aimed to provide students with exposure to forensic medicine, human anatomy, and pathology, while enhancing their understanding of the practical applications of medical sciences.
Upon arrival at Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz (HCTM), the students proceeded to the HCTM surau to perform the Zohor prayer before commencing the academic programme. The visit continued with a session at the HCTM Forensic Unit, where students received a comprehensive briefing from unit representatives. The session introduced participants to the role of forensic medicine in healthcare and legal investigations, as well as the procedures and responsibilities involved in forensic case management.
The students then proceeded to the Anatomy/Pathology Museum and the Dissection Hall at the Department of Anatomy. A detailed presentation and guided tour were conducted by Prof. Dr. Suzana Makpol and Dr. Nor Liyana, who explained various anatomical specimens, pathological conditions, and the importance of anatomy in medical education and research.
Overall, the visit provided valuable experiential learning opportunities and enhanced students’ appreciation of medical sciences. The programme successfully broadened participants’ knowledge, stimulated their interest in healthcare-related disciplines, and strengthened collaboration between academic departments within UKM.
