Stem cell technology is a rapidly developing multidisciplinary field aiming to understand developmental biology, to study disease pathogenesis and to develop new treatment for diseases. Research on stem cells is not limited to the cells, but also its secretory products including secretome and extracellular vesicles. In CTERM, we used stem cells and its secretory products to study cell biology, to screen drug toxicity, to develop in vitro model for testing purposes as well as to understand and treat diseases. Some latest stem cell technologies embarked on in the centre include induced pluripotent stem cells and exosomes.
