Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D)
Admission Requirements
A Bachelor of Law (Honours) degree and Master of Laws degree from UKM or any institution of higher learning recognised by the UKM Senate; or
A Bachelor of Law or Syariah (Honours) degree and Master degree from UKM or any institution of higher learning recognised by the UKM Senate; or
A Bachelor (Honours) degree and Master of Laws or Syariah Degree from UKM or any institution of higher learning recognised by the UKM Senate; or
Currently undertaking the Master of Laws degree on a full-time basis in UKM and has been approved by the Faculty’s Graduate Studies Committee to change the status to the Doctor of Philosophy Programme with the approval from the Director of the Centre for Graduate Management
Programme Structure
Thesis Only
It is compulsory for a candidate to prepare a thesis of not more than 100,000 words. The candidate will be supervised by a supervisor/co supervisor/graduate committee to be determined by the Faculty Graduate Studies Committee.
It is compulsory for candidates to take UK6215 Legal Research Methodology as a registered audit course (AU) in the first semester of the study period.
Language Requirements

Foreign candidates should have attained a minimum band of 547 for TOEFL or a minimum band of 6 for IELTS.
Foreign candidates who possess a good command of the Malay language will be exempted from the above unless the candidate wishes to write a thesis in English.
