About the Conference
The International Conference on GlobaI Business and Digital Economy (ICGloBDE) is an international conference founded by the Centre of Global Business and Digital Economy Studies (GloBDE), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. The conference was created to bring together leading academics, industry experts, policymakers, and thought leaders to achieve its vision of generating and disseminating cutting-edge insights on technologies, sustainability, and best practices to advance global business and digital economic outcomes.
Aligned with the vision of leveraging emergent trends for competitive and sustainable stakeholder impact, the curated research presented at this conference is guided by a mission of pushing knowledge frontiers, shaping better policies and decisions, and connecting present and future leaders across sectors.
Conference Objectives
By bringing together thought leaders and stakeholders across business, academia, government, and society to engage in knowledge exchange and debate, ICGLOBDE intends to:
- push useful knowledge frontiers to drive innovation and progress across disciplines and sectors;
- inform policy and practice for competitive and sustainable outcomes that benefit organizations and communities;

Through rigorous research and meaningful collaboration, the long-term vision of the conference organizers is to positively impact organizations, institutions, and society for shared prosperity through digital transformation and innovation.
The Inaugural Conference
The 1st ICGloBDE was successfully held on 11-12 September 2024 at the Bangi Resort Hotel, Selangor, Malaysia. The inaugural conference was held concurrently with the 26th Malaysia Finance Association International Conference (MFAIC), reflecting the synergies between two events in advancing financial and economic research.
The event attracted over 120 participants from diverse institutions and backgrounds. Participants engaged in vibrant knowledge exchange through paper presentations, panel discussions and networking sessions that exemplified the conference’s commitment to bridging research, policy and practice.
Organizational Stewardship
While the conference was originally founded by the Centre of Global Business and Digital Economy Studies (GloBDE), the organization of ICGloBDE has since been undertaken by the Faculty of Economics and Management, UKM.
