Abstract

This paper attempts to introduce modelling and quantitative techniques as a tool to assist managers in making better decisions. Duscussions are aimed at understanding models — their characteristics, structure, and uses. Steps to be taken to solve problems and making decisions by models are also highlighted. Finally the paper focusses on the use of modelling or quantitative techniques in ac counting to assist accountants in their work.
