In-depth knowledge of plants is an example of the wisdom of the Orang Asli community in health care and also the treatment of various diseases. The Orang Asli community practices various traditional medicine methods, including the use of plants as medicines. The production of the Jahai Tribe Medicinal Plant Exploration book is the result of documentation related to the use of plants among the Jahai tribe’s Orang Asli community in Gerik, Perak. Until this book was published, nearly 100 plant species had been obtained. In this publication, more than 40 species of medicinal plants and herbs have been gathered. The total number successfully collected does not reflect the overall results of the species used in traditional medicinal practices by the Orang Asli community. Rather, it is the number of plants that have undergone a scientific naming process and have been identified and confirmed by reference experts from UKM. Therefore, the figure should not be used as a benchmark to measure the richness of traditional medical knowledge of the Orang Asli community that is still practiced today. For all the writers involved, what is collected and expressed in this book is a small part of the knowledge and traditional practices practiced by the Orang Asli community for a long time. There is still too much information about traditional Orang Asli medical knowledge that has not yet been researched and requires further study.
