The Department of Otorhinolaryngology, UKM Medical Center since its inception in 1997, has grown rapidly and has consistently provided and supported three main services:

• Teaching
• Research
• Hospital services

The Department of Otorhinolaryngology, UKM Medical Center seeks to treat patients surgically or through conservative treatment of the respiratory tract, sinuses, ears, mouth, pharynx, throat and head and neck area.

The Department of Otorhinolaryngology is also often involved in various academic activities including classes for medical students, paramedics and also for physicians especially regarding all areas of surgery in ENT.

We also offer research intensive courses for otology, rhinology, laryngology programs as well as head and neck cancer especially Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) cancer.

In addition doctors in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology have been trained to perform various complex surgical procedures such as Cochlear implants, Bone anchored Hearing Aid (BAHA) implants, Mastoidectomy, Rhinoplasty, Thyroplasty and surgery to remove tumors (benign or malignant) in the head, neck and trachea.

Ear surgery includes hearing rehabilitation procedures, endoscopic surgery of the nose and nasal passages, pharynx, voice box and speech rehabilitation, snoring, nasal reconstructive and pediatric surgery.

The Otorhinolaryngology department will always help by providing the best diagnosis, advice and treatment in dealing with various ENT diseases. In addition, the department always collaborates with other departments such as the Department of Neurosurgery, the Department of Maxillofacial and the Department of Plastic Surgery.
