Mobilising Communities and Industries to Address Climate Change

Dialogue on “MyCLIMATE: Mobilising Communities and Industries to Address Climate Change”. Climate change is an issue necessitates importance action by various parties. Policy implementation and country strategy may be affected without involvement from non-government organizations (NGOs) especially among community and industry. This groups less sensitive and have no capacity in implementing related activities because they have received limited exposure on this matter. Therefore, the Department of Conservation and Environmental Management Division, Ministry of Natural Resources, and Institute for Environment and Development (LESTARI), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, in collaboration with Southeast Asia Disaster Prevention Research Institute (SEADPRI), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, and other interested parties represent communities and industries organised the Dialogue on “MyCLIMATE: Mobilising Communities and Industries to Address Climate Change” on 23 March 2010, at Bilik Majlis, Chansellory Building, UKM Bangi. The main objective was to identify the gaps and opportunities related to climate change in educations and raising awareness among communities and industries.
