Motivation is a drive that can influence the behaviour and the attitude of individuals towards an interest. In the language learning process, in addition to the natural ability factor, the level of language learning motivation is also a factor for the ability and success of a student. Students who have high motivation will strive to master and do their best, as well as in learning Arabic. This study aims to analyst Motivational Self System of Arabic learners. This study involved 212 Arabic language students from 2 universities in Malaysia, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). Questionnaires in Google Forms were distributed via WhatsApp and e-mail. Findings of descriptive statistics using Rasch Model revealed that item correlation of two universities UKM and USIM in order. All item in Pt-Measure show in positive measurement. Findings also indicated that the item arrangement is in according to order 1-2-3-4. This mean the item accordingly arranged in order and show the item were in the same pattern. Meanwhile, the response pattern is shown by Observed Average is discovered to be increase from negative to positive values. Furthermore, the raw variance explained by measure in dimensionality function is 50.1% and its higher than 40%. However, there are some item misfits exceed than targeted value 0.5-1.5 but still can be used for future research. In respondent misfit, some of the respondents make unexpected respond and have exceed than value of 2.0 so in some circumstances it may weaken the system value. All the items are in moderate form in variable map, they are not quite hard neither easy to be answered. So, all the result indicated in good measurement even some have a far from targeted measurement, but the item still can be used in term for future research study and need to be reconstructed for certain item.

This paper explores the values of kindness and morality demonstrated by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in his interactions with children, both Muslim and non-Muslim. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) exemplifies noble character, especially through his compassion and tenderness, which he extended equally to all children. The study also highlights Islam’s emphasis on the education and protection of children, viewing them as vital assets in fostering a harmonious society. Using a qualitative approach, this paper analyzes primary and secondary sources such as the Quran, hadith, and classical Islamic texts. The findings show that the Prophet’s interactions with children embody high moral standards and kindness, providing a model for educating and nurturing them. Moreover, the study emphasizes how Islam’s principles of justice and wisdom respect individual rights without compelling anyone to embrace the faith, including non-Muslim children.

This research aims to determine the forms of resistance of the Wad Ḥāmid village community against discrimination in the short story Dūmah Wad Ḥāmid. The method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques in the form of reading and note-taking techniques. The data analysis technique was carried out by describing discrimination data based on Newman’s discrimination theory. The results in this research include; There are 2 forms of resistance and 10 quotation data in the short story Dūmah Wad Ḥāmid. Among them, public found 9 data quotes for 4 characteristics. First, resistance that takes the form of conforming to the applicable system, is organized between one party and another and works together with each other. Second, there is the impact of change (revolutionary consequences) in the movement which can affect survival. Third, be rational by focusing on the interests of many people. Fourth, aiming to eliminate acts of domination and oppression from those in power and hidden transcripts, 5 quotation data were found for 3 characteristics. First, disorganized resistance. Second, it is individual (aims to seek profit by focusing on individual interests). Third, resistance that does not contain the impact of change.

The Method of Translating Maf‘ul Mutlaq in the Book Muntakhab Ahadith into Malay

The maf‘ul mutlaq is described as a complement used to emphasize and clarify its governing element (‘amil) in Arabic grammar. However, many Malay students, in particular, who are learning Arabic, as well as non-native Arab learners, struggle to master and understand the concept of maf‘ul mutlaq in the Malay language. Thus, this study aims to analyze the methods of translating maf‘ul mutlaq into Malay. In addition to a library research approach, qualitative methods and purposive sampling were employed. The primary source for this study is the book Muntakhab Ahadith, focusing on chapters 1 to 3, while secondary sources include articles, books, and other materials relevant to the research topic. The analysis reveals that the translation of maf‘ul mutlaq into Malay often uses the particle “dengan” (with) for types of maf‘ul mutlaq that emphasize or clarify the form of the verb. Meanwhile, translations of maf‘ul mutlaq used to clarify quantity are based on the use of the verbal noun (masdar marrah) following the pattern فَعلةً (fa‘latan). Most of the translations are literal, adhering to the theories of Vinay and Darbelnet (2008), alongside the frameworks of Nida (1964), Roman Jakobson (1966), and Nababan (2007). The findings also discuss three hadiths that explain the emphasis on actions, four hadiths that clarify the form of the verb, and two hadiths that specify quantity. Therefore, this study is expected to benefit Arabic language instructors and students, particularly in the field of grammar, by aiding their understanding of maf‘ul mutlaq and reducing the difficulties they encounter.

Tense is an important aspect to be acknowledged in the process of learning a second language and also translation from the original language to the target language. This is because without this aspect, a meaning can be misunderstood and damage a communication. This article aims analyze the similarities and differences between Arabic and Malay in the use of verb phrases from the tense aspect in the novel entitled ‘Ustaz’ written by S. Othman Kelantan. This study uses the theory of contrastive analysis from Robert Lado by analyzing sentence patterns, examples, meaning of phrases based on tense aspect, characteristics, and distribution. Among the similarities between these two languages is that they both divide the tenses found in verb phrases into the past, present, and future. These two languages also give different meaning when the order of words in a sentence changes, but if there is a change in the clause, the meaning of the sentence is still the same. The difference identified is that perfect verbs (الفعل التامة) in Arabic carry a tense aspect, but lexical verbs in Malay do not carry a tense aspect and require other particles to give the tense aspect. Arabic also uses the method advancing nouns in sentences as one of the ways to set the tense aspect for verb phrases, while Malay does not have this method. Malay also has aspect auxiliary words that can explain the aspect of tense, but this word classification is not found in Arabic. The results of this study have given pedagogical implications such as the teaching of Arabic verbs that emphasize context and also implications for the field of translation which demands that translators put the same precision in translating the works involving these two languages.

The article highlights the impact of the Malay language in facilitating Arabic language learning among Malay speakers in Malaysia. According to the official website of the Malaysian Government, Malay is considered the national and official language, but Arabic also receives significant encouragement, being taught through specialized educational programs such as the j-QAF program, as well as in secondary schools and universities. The cultural history of trade and religious relations between Arabs and Malays reflects the influence of Arabic on Malay, including linguistic borrowing. This study aims to explore how borrowed Arabic elements in the Malay language, such as loanwords and Jawi script, contribute to facilitating Arabic language learning. A survey conducted among students at the Faculty of Languages and Linguistics, University of Malaya, identified that Arabic loanwords and the Jawi script play a significant role in aiding Arabic language learning, as they have helped increase students’ awareness and improve their ability to understand and use Arabic. The research findings indicate that students benefit from linguistic overlap in accelerating their Arabic learning process, enhancing cultural and linguistic interaction between the two languages.

The book Bidayat al-Hidayah by Imam Al-Ghazali (may Allah have mercy on him) outlines the daily practices we should perform and the etiquette of worship. This study utilized the book to analyze the influence of borrowed Arabic terms on Malay spelling by comparing certain words written in Arabic and Malay script. The study employed a contrastive analysis method, conducting an analytical examination to achieve the expected outcomes, which include analyzing the similarities and differences in borrowed Arabic words found in the book, the reasons for these similarities and differences between the two languages, and assessing the accuracy of the spelling used by the book’s translator in comparison to the fourth edition of the Malay Dewan Dictionary. The study highlights the impact of Arabic on the Malay language. The findings reveal that Arabic has influenced Malay, as observed through the borrowed Arabic words used in this book. Finally, several recommendations and suggestions are provided to ensure the study benefits researchers specifically and readers in general, especially in the field of linguistics in the future.

Damascus is one of the oldest cities in the world, as it carries with it an ancient history and a rich culture that transcends time limits. during the Ottoman era, Damascus assumed a prominent position as one of the cultural and intellectual centers, where poets and writers from various parts of the Arab and Islamic world flocked to it. this period was marked by the emergence of a number of poets who embodied the aesthetics of the city in their poems, which gave their poetry a special character expressing their passion and love for Damascus. The poems of the poets of the Ottoman era reflect feelings of pride and nostalgia, as they were inspired by the sights of the city and its rich history, in addition to its picturesque nature. the poets used various rhetorical methods and exquisite poetic images, which made their works reflect the beauty of the city and the richness of their personal experience in it. through the study of some poetic models, we seek to explore how poets reflected the aesthetics of Damascus, and how this City contributed to the formation of their literary identity. In this article, we will highlight the most prominent poets who dealt with Damascus, and analyze their texts to learn about the different aesthetic visions they presented, as well as the cultural and social influences that those texts reflected. This study aims to provide a deep reading of the aesthetic dimensions in the poetry of the Ottoman era, highlighting the role of Damascus as a symbol of beauty and inspiration.

Allama Nawab Siddiq Hasan Khan Al-Qannawji was an Indian scholar of Islam, a prose writer and an Islamic thinker. Besides writing, he took an important step in ascending the throne of Bhopal dynasty and spreading education. Besides being a famous teacher, he established many schools and libraries at home and abroad to improve the quality of education. After ascending the throne of Bhopal, he facilitated the needs of the learners and improved the standard of education. Allama Nawab Siddiq Hasan Khan Al-Qannawji was educated by many scholars who practiced a religion based on pure faith by dispelling superstitions in Islam. Allama Nawab Siddiq Hasan Khan Al-Qannawji also worked tirelessly to remove superstitions from the society and wrote in various newspapers against superstitions. He gained fame among the world humanity by authoring many books on Islamic subjects. In short, Allama Nawab Siddiq Hasan Khan Al-Qannawji was a very pious person and a famous scholar in India. His father was also a famous scholar in India at that time. Allama Nawab Siddiq Hasan Khan Al-Qannawji was an educated son of a highly educated family in India. Therefore, I think it is very necessary to conduct research, seminars and workshops in universities all over the world including India on various aspects of the life of this famous thinker. This study is concerned with identifying myth as a literary art that meets human cultures and civilizations. The legend takes its recipient to the world of the strange, the strange, and the hidden. While literature is the means by which the writer is creative in expressing his feelings and thoughts in order to attract the minds of the recipient to him. If we combine myth with literature, then literature is what opens for the recipient the gateway to the world of myth, full of wonders and oddities, by employing the suggestive energies of the employed myth. On this basis, this study came to present the myth in a literary form within the fabric of the literary structure, and not in its initial text inherited from successive human civilizations. By mixing the primary myth with the literary text and generating the literary text through it, the creative process in it becomes clear to us. The study will be about the relationship of myth to literature, including the factors for employing myth in literature, and the purposes of employing it in the fabric of the literary text through the vision of its users, including critics and writers. Then we discuss the techniques of employing myth in the literary text according to the writer’s vision of it. The study relied on the descriptive analytical approach. To describe the phenomenon and analyze it with conclusions and judgments that explain the nature of its employment in literature.
