Author Guidelines

Submission Preparation Checklist

Authors are required to check off their submission’s compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors if they do not adhere to these guidelines.

The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
The submission file is in Microsoft Word file format.
The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points.
The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Instructions for Authors

Manuscript

Manuscripts should not be less than 5000 words and not more than 8000 words (excluding references, author/s biodata and appendix). Manuscripts that do not adhere to this will not be considered for review.

Each manuscript must have an abstract (between 200-250 words) and 5 key words.

Papers in Arabic and Malay must have an abstract and title in English with similar abstract content.

Authors are required to send manuscripts in microsoft word format only.

The references of the article are in the form of journals and non-journals which are published in the last 10 years.

The Citation and Reference list uses the APA 6th Style Edition (www.apastyle.org). Please use Reference Manager Applications like EndNote, Mendeley, Zotero, etc.

Authors are to check manuscripts for accuracy of language before submitting to the journal. The Editorial Board will not edit submitted manuscripts for style or language.

Papers submitted to al Qalam must not be under consideration for publication elsewhere, either in electronic or printed form.

Use Times New Roman Font 12 pt (for English and Malay) and Sakkal Majjala 16 (for Arabic)

Manuscripts that do not adhere to any of the SUBMISSION GUIDELINES will not be considered for review.

Peer Review Process

The submitted papers should be original, unpublished, and not in consideration for publication in another journal at the time of submission. All paper submission will be refereed in a single-blind review process by reviewer with expertise in the relevant subject area.
