Pengenalan

The Berkah Ramadan programme engages orphans, underprivileged children, volunteers, and donors in meaningful activities. It fosters togetherness, reduces loneliness, and creates lasting impact for all involved.

  • Raise public awareness about the needs and wellbeing of orphans.
  • Encourage direct and indirect contributions to support their lives.
  • Create togetherness between orphans, volunteers, and donors.
  • Organise educational and creative activities as part of the iftar programme.

IoT-Assisted Smart Vertical Farming Program

Tarikh: 9 March 2024

Pengenalan

The Center for Integrated Systems Engineering and Advanced Technologies (INTEGRA) together with the Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering (JKMP), UKM, organised a one-day IoT-Assisted Smart Vertical Farming Program in collaboration with Universiti Malaya (UM). The program showcased innovative agricultural technology led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohamad Hanif Md Saad, demonstrating IoT-enabled automated monitoring and control for vertical farming.

Objektif

  • Introduce and demonstrate smart vertical farming to urban communities.
  • Equip residents with skills in setup, maintenance, and optimisation of vertical farming systems.
  • Encourage sustainable and healthy lifestyles through urban farming.
  • Provide understanding of IoT applications in agriculture to optimise plant growth.

Mahasiswa Prihatin Menyantuni Gelandangan

Pengenalan

The Mahasiswa Prihatin, Menyantuni Gelandangan programme was organised by Persatuan Mahasiswa Kejuruteraan Awam (CIVILENS) to provide assistance and deliver daily necessities kits to the homeless. It reflects UKM’s CORE value of social responsibility, nurturing care and concern among students for marginalized communities.

Objektif

  • Cultivate concern and consideration among students.
  • Expose students to real-life challenges of marginalized communities.
  • Donate food and essential goods to the homeless.

Taman Lestari UKM-YSD

Pengenalan

Taman Lestari UKM-YSD is a sustainability initiative at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) supported by the Selangor State Government. It integrates urban farming, biodiversity conservation, and food sustainability while fostering community engagement. Facilities include gardening spaces, hydroponic systems, composting bins, and rainwater harvesting. The project provides free fresh produce to the UKM community and strengthens sustainability awareness through education and outreach.

  • Foster partnerships between UKM and the community for biodiversity conservation and sustainable living.
  • Implement educational programmes focused on climate resilience and smart technologies for climate change mitigation.
