The IDEA Centre of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), through its Research Cluster, conducted a courtesy visit to Menteri Besar Selangor Incorporated (MBI) at Bangunan Darul Ehsan, Shah Alam.
The UKM delegation was led by Professor Dr. Jamia Azdina Jamal, who is currently serving as the Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), accompanied by Research Cluster Leads and officers from the IDEA Centre.
The discussion session was chaired by YBhg. Dato’ Ts. Saipolyazan M Yusop, D.S.I.S (Selangor), Chief Executive Officer of MBI. Also in attendance were Mr. Ammar Gazali, Director of the Selangor Research Institute (SRI), and Dr. Siti Nurzahira Che Tahrim, Senior Researcher.
The visit aimed to explore the potential for strategic research collaboration between UKM and MBI, particularly in areas aligned with the development priorities of the State of Selangor, including big data utilisation, smart solutions, and people-centric initiatives.
The meeting concluded with a mutual expression of interest from both parties to begin discussions towards a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), forming the basis for a long-term, impactful, and policy-relevant research partnership that supports the state’s developmental agenda.
